Bank of the Sierra was incorporated under the laws of the State of California on September 14, 1977, and commenced operations as a California state-chartered bank on January 19, 1978.

Bank of the Sierra is currently the largest independent bank headquartered in Tulare County. With a focus on personal service, Bank of the Sierra is positioned as an independent bank serving the financial needs of individuals and businesses, including agriculture and real estate customers, in Tulare, Kings, Kern, and Fresno counties. The mission of Bank of the Sierra is, "To provide the highest return on equity to our shareholders consistent with sound banking practices."

Branch Loan Officer

Bank of the Sierra is searching for a branch loan officer. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial and real estate lending. Must be able to develop and manage commercial loan accounts which meet established lending requirements and which provide maximum profitability to the bank with minimum risk. The position requires developing new customer leads and meeting with and interviewing prospective customers in order to develop a complete banking relationship. The position requires the analyzing of the customers financial status, credit, property evaluation, compiling the loan package, facilitating negotiation of the loan structure, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms. A bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance preferred.

Credit Assistant

Responsibilities include credit searches, title work, appraisal orders and documentation skills. These tasks must be completed immediately following the initial application. Must have knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel and have good typing skills. Must have good communication skills and work well with co-workers and customers. Must be organized, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Opening in Visalia, Hanford and Tehachapi.

Credit Assistant

Responsibilities include ordering construction inspections and title endorsements, post advances and balance loans, and complete any construction disbursement functions as necessary for daily operations of the department. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel and have good communication skills. Opening in Bakersfield.

Financial Services Representative

Responsibilities include opening new accounts, providing loan services, selling bank products, assisting customers with bank transactions, etc. Must be a quick learner and be able to perform multiple tasks while under pressure. Must be a people oriented person who enjoys working with the public. Strong communication skills required. Positions open in Porterville.

Operations Assistant

Responsibilities include assisting customers with banking transactions, receiving deposits, cashing checks, selling bank products, balancing drawer and ATM, etc. Must be a quick learner and able to perform multiple tasks while under pressure. Must be a people oriented person with good communication skills who enjoys working with the public. Positions are open in Tehachapi, Fresno, Three Rivers, Bakersfield and Porterville.

Administrative Assistant - Central Operations

Responsibilities include composing and typing correspondence, filing, assisting in the preparation of presentations and reports, maintain daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reports, perform as a backup to the positions within the Specialized Operations Services (SOS) Department. Candidate must have excellent computer skills, primarily with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments. Position open in Porterville.

Operations Assistant

Responsibilities include auditing and calling back regarding new account information and other system changes. Must be a quick learner and able to perform multiple tasks while under pressure. Must have basic computer skills and be proficient in MS Word and Excel. Position open in Porterville, CA.
