Who Are We?
Bank of the Sierra was incorporated under the laws of the State of California on September 14, 1977, and commenced operations as a California state-chartered bank on January 19, 1978.

With a predominant focus on personal service, Bank of the Sierra has positioned itself as an independent bank serving the financial needs of individuals and businesses, including agriculture and real estate customers, in Tulare, Kings, Kern, and Fresno counties. Bank of the Sierra is currently the largest independent bank headquartered in Tulare County. The mission of Bank of the Sierra is, "To provide the highest return on equity to our shareholders consistent with sound banking practices."

  • Systems Technician III
    Responsibilities include monitor, resolve and update assigned work orders daily, install and configure application software, support end users on all application problems, and test and install vendor-provided patches and releases for Bank-owned application software. Experience in the following is recommended; prior programming and database development, production control procedures, application installation, data conversions and system migrations. Candidate must have a good knowledge of networking concepts, and have an excellent design grasp of how applications need to fit together to give the Bank the most efficient performance.
  • Credit Assistant
    Responsibilities include credit searches, title work, appraisal orders and documentation skills. These tasks must be completed immediately following the initial application. Must have knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel and have good typing skills. Must have good communication skills and work well with co-workers and customers. Must be organized, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Opening in Visalia and Hanford.
  • Credit Assistant
    Responsibilities include ordering construction inspections and title endorsements, post advances and balance loans, and complete any construction disbursement functions as necessary for daily operations of the department. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel and have good communication skills. Opening in Bakersfield.
  • Financial Services Representative
    Responsibilities include opening new accounts, providing loan services, selling bank products, assisting customers with bank transactions, etc. Must be a quick learner and be able to perform multiple tasks while under pressure. Must be a people oriented person who enjoys working with the public. Strong communication skills required. Positions open in Porterville.
  • Operations Assistant
    Responsibilities include assisting customers with banking transactions, receiving deposits, cashing checks, selling bank products, balancing drawer and ATM, etc. Must be a quick learner and able to perform multiple tasks while under pressure. Must be a people oriented person with good communication skills who enjoys working with the public. Positions are open in Tehachapi, Fresno, Three Rivers, Bakersfield and Porterville.
  • Systems Technician I or II
    Candidate will monitor, resolve, and update assigned work orders daily; install and configure application software on servers and workstations; support and assist end users on all application problems; assist other systems technicians as required for testing and troubleshooting application software problems; test and install vendor patches and releases for application software under the direct supervision of the Manager of Bank Applications. Must have the ability to setup and configure application software for end user use, have the desire to track down and resolve technical problems, and provide outstanding customer service at all times. Candidate must also be very well organized, follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner. Position open in Porterville.
  • Administrative Assistant – Central Operations
    Responsibilities include composing and typing correspondence, filing, assisting in the preparation of presentations and reports, maintain daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reports, perform as a backup to the positions within the Specialized Operations Services (SOS) Department. Candidate must have excellent computer skills, primarily with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments. Position open in Porterville.
  • Network Technician - Night Shift Operator
    Responsibilities include the completion of the steps and tasks associated with the successful update of the nightly PCS batch and accrual process and ancillary systems, printing and distribution of notices and specified statements, completion of certain balancing procedures, initialization of specific and various servers on a periodic basis, and performance of backup routines for various network servers. Candidate must have previous computer operations experience. Must be dependable, able to follow operating instructions, and able to make sound decisions. Position’s work schedule is Monday – Friday on the swing/mid shift (start time will vary day to day).
  • Branch Loan Officer
    Bank of the Sierra is searching for a branch loan officer. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial and real estate lending. Must be able to develop and manage commercial loan accounts which meet established lending requirements and which provide maximum profitability to the bank with minimum risk. The position requires developing new customer leads and meeting with and interviewing prospective customers in order to develop a complete banking relationship. The position requires the analyzing of the customers financial status, credit, property evaluation, compiling the loan package, facilitating negotiation of the loan structure, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms. A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance preferred.
