PORTERVILLE, CA – Bank of the Sierra is pleased to announce Larry Velasquez as the new Bakersfield Market President. He will oversee the Bank’s four branches in Bakersfield and its branch in Delano. Velasquez will also be responsible for building business relationships in the Bakersfield market and ensuring area customers receive the best possible experience when at their local Bank of the Sierra branch.
Velasquez has almost 30 years of banking experience, including 20 years at Rabobank in Bakersfield, Ventura, and Hanford. His last position with Rabobank was Senior Vice President and Director of Mortgage Sales, where he worked to improve the mortgage banking experience for Bakersfield customers. Most recently, Velasquez was the Regional Vice President of Branch Channel Delivery with Golden 1 Credit Union, after a promotion from his previous role as San Joaquin Valley Market Area Manager.
Velasquez is involved in the Bakersfield community, having served as an advisory member of the Kern County Small Business Development Center. He also graduated from the Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Bakersfield program.
