Identity Theft
The FTC’s website (IdentityTheft.gov) is a resource that makes it easier for victims to report and recover from identity theft. The site provides an interactive checklist that walks you through the recovery process. It also shows information on which recovery steps should be taken upon learning your identity has been stolen. This is done by providing sample letters, specialized tips for specific forms of identity theft, as well as advice for people who
have been notified that their personal information was exposed in a data breach.
