On the morning of February 27, our alert system caught an unsophisticated attempt to collect debit card information. This attempt was quickly discovered and halted immediately. Although the attempt was not specifically directed at Bank of the Sierra, a limited number of our customers’ business debit cards were affected. Customers with affected business debit cards were notified immediately and new cards have already been reordered. No money was stolen and no customer data was compromised. We take the security of our customers’ information very seriously, and we follow the safest and strictest protocols for customer data and card security available. We will continue to monitor the situation.
If you believe your debit card has been compromised, please do not hesitate to call our Customer Service Center at 1-888-454-BANK.
