To protect your privacy, we may need to authenticate your identity before we respond to your rights request. We will verify your identity by sending you an email asking you to provide certain pieces of information in order to properly identify you. We may ask you for additional information as part of this process, including the date and amount of your last deposit with us, as well as a telephone number that is on record with the Bank. If you do not complete the verification process, we may be unable to process your request. Any information you provide to authenticate your identity will only be used to process your rights request and not for any other purpose. Please be aware that we do not accept or process rights requests submitted through other means.

We will respond to your rights request within 45 days, though in certain cases we may inform you that we will need up to another 45 days to act on your request. If we suspect fraudulent or malicious activity on or from your account, we will delay taking action on your request until we can appropriately verify your identity and the request as authentic. Also note that each of the rights are subject to certain exceptions.

We reserve the right to decline to process, or charge a reasonable fee for, requests from a California resident that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive.

Notice of Right to Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information
You have the right to limit some uses of Sensitive Personal Information. You may direct companies not to use Sensitive Personal Information except as necessary to provide goods or services you have requested or other exempt purposes.

However, we only use Sensitive Personal Information for purposes that are exempt from this right, such as to provide you with goods or services you have requested, to detect and prevent security incidents, or to verify the quality of our goods and services. The full list of these exempt purposes is specified in California Code of Regulations, Title 11, Section 7027(m).

Children’s Data

Authorized Agent Requests
California privacy law allows you to designate an authorized agent to make a rights request on your behalf. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information (information that is identifiable to a particular person) that is collected (directly or through service providers) in connection with the Mobile Banking Application (App). This Privacy Policy is intended to supplement the disclosures in any Privacy Policy that you may have already been presented by us in connection with other services or online banking.

All natural persons whose personal information is either collected/received/possessed/stored or handled by Bank of the Sierra who uses the App are covered under this policy. We do not knowingly collect information from or about individuals under 18 years of age. Please do not submit such information to us, and as a parent or legal guardian, please do not allow your children to submit personal information without your permission.

We may use information provided to us by you or through the App to facilitate our service, and other everyday purposes, such as to maintain your ability to access the service, send you information about the service, to effect, administer and enforce transactions, to perform fraud screening, to prevent actual or potential fraud and unauthorized transactions, to verify your identity, to respond to legal requirements. The information we may collect includes Application settings; Contact information; Financial Information; Tracking Activity; Location; Camera; Contact Lists; Photos; Biometrics; Device History; Data Log; Device identifier.

We value your trust in providing us with your Personal Information, and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting the information. However protecting your device is important. You understand you must protect or lock your mobile device to protect unauthorized use of the App.

We may also share non-personal information, such as user statistics (e.g. number of downloads and registrations, most popular merchants), demographic information and Usage information with third parties for marketing or analytical purposes.

We do not share your personal information with ad networks, carriers, consumer data resellers, data analytics providers other than independent collection by those third parties described above, operating systems and platforms, other apps or social networks.
